Telangana without Hyderabad

The time has come when the land of Telugus might become the victim of pure political greed and lose its identity. Well, we are talking about our Andhra Pradesh and looking at the way the political situation is right now, the chances are that the Telangana state is likely in the cards.

Sources say that the UPA government is now considering the option of granting a separate Telangana state but with few conditions. First and mandatory norm is that Hyderabad will not be a part of it, the capital city is being looked at as a Union Territory.

The other condition is that, both Telangana and Andhra regions would be given a span of ten years to select and build their own capital cities. Well, this is the likely proposal expected from Sonia & Co. However, it remains to be seen what sort of reactions will come out once the proposal comes forward. Buzz is that this discussion is likely to happen in the month of March.

Kudirithe Kappu Coffee Review

Rating : 3.25/5

Director : Ramana Salwa
Music Director : Yogeswar
Producer : Mahi
Starring : Varun Sandesh, Suma Bhattachaya, Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, Tanikella Bharani

Call it the most happening theme in Tollywood or sheer coincidence, but stories of upmarket people (Gaganam, Ala Modalaindi, LBW) are making their presence felt in Tollywood.Kudirithey Kappu Coffee might have you thinking that it is one such kind, thanks to its urbane texture. However, it is luxuriously rustic and innocent at heart, and that is exactly where it manages to catch you off guard.

The story : Unable to handle rejection from a girl, Ravi commits suicide. For Ravi's close friend Venu (Varun Sandesh), the incident leaves quite a negative impression on love stories. Offering him a break from all this, Venu's dad sends him over to Dakshinagiri to take care of coffee shoppe he had given away to his former teacher. It is at Dakshinagiri that he meets characters like Malati teacher who is trying to pay her debts off to Decent Lodge owner Mohan. But for Mohan, the debt is just a way of getting his hands on the coffee shop! Besotted by the coffee shop, the picturesque locale, and the old teacher, Venu agees to help her, by making it a venue for a marriage. Of course, he doesn't tell them who he actually is. Venu is joined by the teacher's Hotel Management granddaughter Lasya (Suma Bhattacharya). It isn't long before Lasya falls for the boy's honesty and his mysterious charm. Venu though, is least interested in her. Destiny, however, has different things in store for both of them.

what is Good to watch : The first thing that you'll notice in the film is its visual sweetness, almost reminiscent of Geetanjali. The comparison ends there as the story is obviously quite different and so are its characters. Varun Sandesh as Venu, for the first time makes an impression with something more than his boyish looks. His new look, added with a certain calmness and a little bit of underplay, is surprisingly endearing. Suma Bhattacharya looks the girl next door, and she makes a decent entry into Telugu film industry. Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao as the hero's father is quite impressive and it wouldn't be a surprise if he is offered more of such roles. Tanikella Bharani is as usual good too! Almost all characters are quite simple inspite of their strange connections to each other. Thanks to the greenery of Dakshinagiri, throughout the first half of the film, you feel like you are on a virtual holiday.

What is bad: For the kind of expectations set by the end of the first half, the second half goes down on drama or can we say real content. The situations, which seemed developed well, especially the brewing word tussle between Mohan and Venu, fizz out rather tamely. Obviously, when you see almost all characters going out of their way to make things comfortable for the hero and the heroine, you'd expect more from them, won't you? The tempo moves up and down in the second half mostly because the conversations come short on communicating the necessary emotions. It will be interesting to see how audiences will like the climax which comes without the 'habitual' melodrama. That said, the visual and audio appeal is extremely captivating.

Technical Review : Director Ramana Salva should be appreciated for coming up with a story which is quite novel. He executes his story in a rather poetic fashion bringing in silent stares and unsaid emotions to the fore. It is easy to say he could have exercised more caution with the dialogues, but his other technical team doesn't let him down. Cinematographer Santosh Rai, makes the best use of the scenic Dakshinagiri, and art director gives it almost a fairytale touch. Yogeshwar Sharma's first outing as a music director is quite a success. His songs enhance the depth of his dad's meaningful lyrics, and his rerecording manages to maintain the movie's tempo. The overall production values seem quite rich, and both the producers Mahi and Shiva need to be praised for not falling for the usual commercial aspects of moviemaking.

Tagline : Kudirithey Kappu Coffee might fall under the usual love story genre, but it manages to make a place for itself, as its feel good factors come from unexpected ways. Watch it for Varun Sandesh's best performance so far, for its rich visual treat and an easy love story.

Prema Kavali Movie Review

Banner: RR Movie Makers
Cast: Aadi, Isha Chawla, Dev Gil, Sindhu Tolani, Ali, Brahmanandam
Music Director: Anoop Rubens
Producer: K Atchi Reddy
Director: K.Vijaya Bhaskar

rating: 2.25/5

Prema Kavali Movie Review  – Prema Kavali Review – Prema Kavali Telugu Movie Review: Sai Kumar’s son Aadi made his debut with Prema Kavali. Vijay Bhaskar who earlier made many hit films is roped in as the director. Like all star kids first films, Prema Kavali focuses on commercial ingredients to woo all the sections of audience. To showcase all the skills of the young kid in particular. Hence, Prema Kavali is clichéd, utterly routine, occasionally boring and has a pathetic ending. Let us uncover the details of Prema Kavali in this review…

Story:

Prema (Isha Chawla), who is a daughter of Jail Superintendent (Nazar) gets harassed by one person (Shafi) who has the photos of Prema kissing Srinu. Who is Srinu (Aadi)? He is a classmate of Prema who falls for her in the first sight and tries to woo her all the time. But being a conservative girl, Prema doesn’t respond to his love. Then happens this kissing incident which turns out to be a nightmare of her life. Who is Shafi? What is the intention behind his harassment will be revealed later.

Analysis:

Vijaya Bhaskar, who is yet to bag a hit sans Trivikram struggles on the script front yet again. The story is too silly to believe. Linking a tender love story to terrorism is absurd. And taking it seriously and pushing it to the maximum is ridiculous. Screenplay is so bad that we almost forget what happened prior to that particular scene and doesn’t have a clue about where it is heading to.

First half is strictly Okay with routine college comedy and few songs. It gets on to your nerves towards the intermission. Second half too runs on the same note. Vijaya Bhaskar’s desperate attempt to be a Trivikram all by himself boomeranged big time in this movie as he tried to link this love story to terrorism. He followed the pattern of Trivikram’s stories by introducing comedy characters in between. Trivikram has the knack of linking the characters perfectly to the story but Vijaya Bhaskar lacks it completely.

Therefore, the so called comedy scenes involving Brahmanandam and MS Narayana looks forced and unfunny. That lengthy scene has nothing to do with the story. By then the film is set for a climax and director who is completely unaware of that goes for a picnic. Climax is the biggest minus in this film. If anyone wants to pass this off as an average fare until then would fail it mercilessly for that stupid climax scene. NCC cadet chasing ISI terrorist all alone will stand out as one of the stupidest ever scenes in the history of Telugu cinema.

People couldn’t stand that absurdity and walked out of the Premiere show (which is not a common scene) will tell the whole story for you. Prema Kavali is a complete waste of time and not even worth watching once.

Performances:

Sai Kumar’s son Aadi is fine. His performance for a first timer is Okay. He has the boy next door looks and can dance well. However, he should have waited for another couple of years as he looked too young to be a hero. Isha Chawla doesn’t have the looks of a heroine. Not many would figure out that she is the lead lady when she appears for the first time. She sizzled in a rain song.

Sindhu Tolani turned into a character artist with this movie. She is good. Dev Gill is wasted. Shafi is routine. Nazar is standard. Ali tries to pump in some energy. Brahmanandam and MS Narayana are not needed.

Technicalities:

Prasad Varma tries too hard to imitate Trivikram. His rhyming dialogues are painful on ears. Chota K Naidu has gone wasted. He did his best to make this film stylish. Anup Rubens music is peppy but lacks soul. Background score is average. Editing by Gowtham Raju is not up to the mark. Production values are rich. The film looked lavish in each and every frame.

Vijaya Bhaskar fails as a writer and director. Looks like Trivikram should make time to put this man back on track.

Plus Points:

- Production values and publicity

Minus points:

- Story
- Dialogues
- Screenplay
- Direction

Final Word:

Prema Kavali offers nothing new except marking the debut of Sai Kumar’s son.

Rating: 3/5

Story
LBW Life Before Wedding takes you through the happy and tumultuous times of six characters who are either working, passing out of college or pursuing a career, three in Dallas and three in India. Radhika (Chinmayi Ghatrazu) and Rajesh (Rohan) are best buddies, diverse personalities, they work together, travel together, have perfect understanding. Radhika doesn't know how and why but discovers herself falling in love with Rajesh but the latter finds it weird when she proposes to him.

Sruthi (Nishanthi Evani) and Jai (Abhijith) look to be a made for each other couple. Just when things appear to be going right for them, Jai breaks the relationship with his indecision. He wants to set it right but it's too late. There are a few more characters, Asif Taz as Varun, Rishi as Siddhu who act as catalyst to provide the twists and turns and as they do, the story set in the two cities move on parallel lines allowing you to take a closer look into their thinking, attitude and priorities in life.

Performances:

All the actors in the movie are new comers and we can say that they have shown their true talent and ability. Siddhu steals the show in the first half with his excellent and exceptional talent who can suit our typical Telugu cinemas. He has flexibility in body language and smooth dialogue delivery.

Abhijet is good looking and he is the darker side of the movie who gets highlighted as the movie progresses.

Asif Tej is a cool in his way and he brought naturality to his character with his great accent and coolness.

Rohan is silent for most of the time and his timing in penultimate scenes is really good and he has made his mark there.

Nishanti and Chinmayi are not of Telugu film type heroines, but they did justice to their characters. Although Chinmayi has won over Nishanti with her performance though the make-up is not proper in certain scenes. Nishanti has given a natural performance.

Analysis:

Other than the content, the director focuses on the feelings, emotions of the lead pairs and the supporting cast, on why they behave in a particular manner and provides interesting insight into their relationships. It gives you a feeling that you've come across such characters atleast once in your life time or you feel you've been a part of it before. By the end of the film, the audience begins to debate on, empathise with the people who fall, rise and move on with life. It is a good take on the love life of people who've passed out of college and are working.

The director has chosen the cast perfectly and all of them dazzle with their debut performances. One can see the earnestness with which the young actors have performed. Director draws the right kind of emotions and body language from them and has scripted the story from real life experiences of his friends which lend an element of believability to the story. The language is part Telugu, part English, has average, earthy lyrics.

Final Point:

The target audience is from the age group of 18 to 40, LBW makes you smile, embarrassed, reflect on your decisions you'd taken when you were that young. All the technical glitches in the film will be overlooked by the absorbing content and performances. Watch the film keeping your expectations in check, and you will like it. A rightly paced narration with good cinematography, LBW though is a honest and a decent effort by a debutant filmmaker Praveen Sattaru.

M Khan stepping To Bec0me Producer

Mumaith Khan To Become Producer For Puri Film

Mumaith Khan is unarguably one of the most popular choices when it comes to item songs in Telugu films. All credit to Puri Jagannadh’s Pokkiri in which she had danced for a chartbusting number, Ippatikinka Naa Vayasu Inka Padahare. After that, she was a regular face in almost all of Puri Jagannadh’s film and also danced her way to glory in quite a few Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films.
Right now Mumaith Khan has not been in news these days as she lost her sheen and craze. She recently ventured into event management business and is now looking forward to start film production house.

Her mentor and guru Puri Jagannadh will direct Mumaith’s first production, says the buzz. Mumaith Khan was shot to fame as an item girl with Puri’s Pokiri and later acted as heroine in few films. Like any item girl, Mumaith lost her craze pretty soon and ended up with empty hands with no offers coming her way.

Now, Puri Jagannadh has reportedly given confidence to her to take up film production. More details about this film will be known later.

RamGopalVarma titled his next movie " TV Wine"?

ramgopal varma is an Introvert.’  ‘Varma lost his Mental Balance.’ ‘RGV is a Destructor.’  These are few of the expert views on ramgopal varma from the excerpts telecasted in a TV9 program titled ‘Ram Dhamaal Varma.’

Apparently TV9 most of the times assert for these kinds of cine postmortem programs to generate TRPs. Now, ‘KSD Appalraju’ coming out like a shocker for public has come like a catch seven program for TV9 and as usual the program editors focused more on downfall of RGV rather than the other side. Though other media friends might call it mudslinging but surely this was a routine work of TV9 working for a ‘better society’ and ‘better TRPs.’

One of the enthusiastic movie buffs after watching this ‘Ram Dhamaal Varma’ commented that as Varma is a keen lover of wine and whisky, he might start his next movie titled as ‘TV Wine’ attacking the TV9.  Don’t bother about Katha, Screenplay because Varma appears to have Directed them to trash basket long back. Everything for time being is ‘Naa Ishtam.’ Let us wait and see, how kicking will be this ‘TV Wine,’ if RGV really starts it.

Erra Gulabeelu Review

Erra Gulabeelu Movie Review

Movie : Erra Gulabeelu
Rating: 3.25/5
Cast : Sameera Reddy, Veera, Karthik, Deva, Samantha, Swapna Abraham, Ashwin and others
Directed by : Gautham Menon
Produced by : Vallabhaneni Ashok
Banner : Manadesam Movies
Music : None
Release Date : 2011-02-19

Erra GulabeeluStory:

A hard hitting tale, the story begins with the arrest of Samar (Veera) by SP Vijay (Deva) who is investigating the deaths of three police officers. Samar reveals his flashback and this involves his troubled childhood where he is sexually abused due to his maniac father. The story also reveals about his neighbour Meenakshi (Swapna) who rescues Samar and becomes his guardian till he becomes a teen. However, things change when she gets married to her childhood friend and he is killed by Samar. On the other hand, Samar has a strong feeling for Sukanya (Sameera Reddy) and he kidnaps her. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Artist Performances:

Sameera Reddy has come up with an expressive performance and she shows the right emotions. Deva looks good and made his presence felt. Samantha was brief. Swapna Abraham was sensuous and effective. Ashwin was alright. The real one to watch out for was Veera who comes up with a riveting performance and has that menacing feel in his language and presence. The others did their bit as required.

Plus Points:

    * Cinematography
    * Veera’s Performance
    * Sameera Reddy
    * Production And Technical Values
    * Second Half
    * Scene Compositions

Minus Points:

    * Only For Select Audience
    * Disturbing Content

Analysis:

This is one of those rare path breaking films which are not seen in Indian cinema so full credit goes to Gautham Menon for coming up with such a treat. The fact that there is no music, songs, comedy etc makes it a unique project. Thrillers are usually risky ventures and it takes a lot of nerve to keep the audience hooked to the seat for two hours. This was achieved through this film. But then, this is not for kids, families, those with weak hearts. The reactions might be extreme considering the flavor of the subject. At the box office, this will strike profits and it will appeal to those who seek a thinking cinema.

Verdict: Absolute thriller! Only for strong minds and hearts!!

Deepika to 'S' with Pawan Kalyan

Deepika to 'Step' with Pawan

Silver screen is such a miraculous place, where all mysterious things do happen. Pawan Kalayan's 'Teen Maar' is in the limelight from a couple of weeks as it completed shooting. Huge expectations are already on a rise about the flick. A storm of speculations is also shaking Film Nagar regarding Teen Maar and Deepika Padukone's item number is one among them.

Crisply speaking, Deepika is looking down south for a strong offer that can boost her career here. The respect a heroine commands in South Industry is far high from what they get in Bollywood. Earlier Deepika tried with a Kannada film and no one cared for her. Though she has done a sizzling item number in Jayant.C.Paraanji's unreleased flick, Telugu industry never looked her way, due to the high price she is quoting. Close sources revealed that Deepika has approached Jayanth once again, as he is the director of 'Teenmaar' to shake her leg alongside Pawan Kalyan in an item song. As of now, only the shoot of three songs is pending with 'Teenmaar', she can really try hard to bag screen space opposite Power Star for 4 minutes. Wait and see
