Distributors expecting doubt about 'Shakti'
Junior NTR SHAKTI will be hitting screens on March 30th, 2011 and the arrangements are being made for the movie release on a grand scale. Producer Aswini Dutt has poured in Rs 45 cr into this project, which is being directed by Meher Ramesh. If sources are to be believed, Aswini Dutt has failed to convince the film distributors in Nizam area.
SHAKTI promos reveal that this movie is a copy of director SS Rajamouli’s ‘Magadheera’ and so, many distributors are not inclined to stepping ahead to buy it. Moreover, ‘ Magadheera’ faced similar problems and so producer Allu Arjun distributed himself the movie and promoted it exclusively in Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna owned MAA TV, which earned the movie some respectable collections.
Similar SHAKTI needs something like this to promote the movie on a grand scale and it is impossible for Aswini Dutt to create the same hype. So, the nizam area distributors are doubtful about SHAKTI’s performance. Ironically, some days ago Telugu news Channel (NTV) published that SHAKTI distribution rights were sold like hot cakes and that too for an astronomical amount.
But now, Ashwini Dutt has cleared that it was a fake news article and the distribution rights will be sold only after the actual budget is carved out and the first copy of SHAKTI is in his hands.
Director Meher Ramesh started SHAKTI with a quotation of just Rs 38 crores. But the movie now has an investment of Rs 45 cr’s approximately. The music of the film SHAKTI is not upto the mark and this is a fact.
Aswini Dutt appeared tensed on this issue and he was seen with red eyes and puffed up face at the Sangeeth ceremony of Allu Arjun.
