Even before the movie begins, you get a good feeling about it. Fortunately, it lives up to that intuition. A crackling script, fantastic direction and amazing performances, this movie almost deserves to be called a classic.
Sahib (Jimmy Shergill) is a sovereign who has lost all his glory and money, and therefore has to resort to certain criminal activities to keep up his ostentatious lifestyle. Add to that, he has to borrow money from his stepmother (who has inherited all the money from his dad). On top of it, he is losing the power game to his rival... all these factors not helping his self-esteem. His mistress Mahua and his trusted servant ???, however, ensure he gets his periodical ego boosts.
Biwi is Mahie Gill, who is mentally imbalanced and pines for her husband's attention, while he spends most nights with Mahua. Then there's the handsome, but cocky Bablu (Randeep Hooda), who has a clear agenda in place. But all the agendas and motives go for a toss, when Bablu falls in love with the Biwi. While she is looking for physical gratification, he is looking for something far beyond.
Some of the dialogues in the movie are so brilliant that the writer of such gems deserves a big pat and perhaps some awards too. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia (who has co-written this stellar script with Sanhay Chauhan) doesn't let your attention waver even for a minute, as he spins the story of a violent nexus between power brokers and politicians, and how far they will go to protect their power equations.
Randeep Hooda stands out for his brilliant performance. This guy definitely deserves more such roles. Jimmy Shergill is also very good. Mahie Gill, however, fails to really excite given that she has some fantastic bold scenes to show off her acting skills. No doubt she looks hot, but she ends up giving an average performance.
But the superhero -- I must reiterate and stress on this again -- is the script and its fantastic dialogues.

7 Khoon Maaf, based on a short story by Ruskin Bond, is about a woman’s quest for love. Only this woman, Susanna played by Priyanka Chopra, unerringly manages to find and marry the worst candidates, not once but six times.
She walks down the aisle with cheery optimism and the knowledge that if it doesn’t work, there’s always the other option. Why doesn’t she just leave or opt for divorce? Because, as her faithful butler explains, that is her nature.
This is a tough story to pull off and despite the voluminous talent on display here – from director-co-writer-composer Vishal Bhardwaj to Priyanka to co-stars like Irrfan Khan and Naseeruddin Shah – the film stumbles and fumbles.
The episodic nature of the narrative makes the plot predictable. You know that each husband is going to be killed – you are just waiting to find out how and why.
Bond’s slender story works marvelously because the author leaves much to the imagination. There are hints that most husbands were fortune hunters and at least one drank too much but their faults aren’t explicitly spelt out.
Here each one is assigned a fatal flaw – so if one is a sexual sadist, another is a gold digger. But few are memorable – there is one superbly creepy scene in which Neil Nitin Mukesh, playing a one-legged Army Major, caresses Susanna with his amputated limb - but most of them don’t make an impression. They seem more like walking targets than characters.
Thankfully Susanna has more texture. She is a chameleon – vulnerable and tearful in one moment and an unfeeling viper in the next. Susanna is vain and cruel and Priyanka doesn’t try to soften her. Instead she revels in the chance to go twisted, dark and frankly ugly. But beyond a point, even she can’t prop up the sagging plot.
The transitions from one husband to the next are nicely done as is the rollicking number Darling. But eventually the film becomes such a slog that when interval arrives with the warning that there are four more husbands to go, it almost feels like a threat.
Vishal loosely tethers his tale to reality – television, radio and newspaper headlines reveal which year we are in - but mostly this fantastical story happens in a dark Neverland. But this mysterious gothic world of murderous servants and their mistress who keeps cobras as pets, needed to be more fully realised and our journey into it needed to be far more seductive and engaging.
Final Verdict:
7 Khoon Maaf was a disappointment.

Imran Khan had a working Valentine's Day. The actor was at the Goregaon station shooting an ad for a cola brand he endorses.
Earlier the shoot was scheduled to take place in an isolated place on a train set but that didn't work out they had to shoot in a local train.
In the commercial Imran is shown running to catch the train. When he finally jumps on to the train, he realises that it's a ladies compartment.
A source from the production said, "Since they were shooting at an actual station, he had to keep getting into different local trains every five minutes. Special permission was taken for Imran to jump into the 24-hour ladies coach."
The crew shot at the Western railway suburb from 9 am to 4 pm.
Since it was Valentine's Day most of the girls were in for a treat. He obliged all his female fans by taking pictures and signing autographs.
The actor said, "It was a lot of fun shooting the ad. It's the first time I travelled by train, and certainly the first time I traveled in a ladies compartment!"

As Anushka is busy with many projects in Tollywood and Kollywood and at the same time she is not showing interest to debut in Bollywood she rejected the offer of Bollywood. Now, this golden chance has knocked the door of Kajal Agarwal.This has given Kajal the chance to make her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgn.
The makers of Singam remake have approached Kajal for the female lead role after Anuksha refused to act in the Hindi version. Sources say that the latter backed out citing date issues, as she is busy with other projects. However, Kajal has grabbed this opportunity with both hands and has got ticket to B-town. Today, she is one of the busiest actresses with six movies in different languages hitting the screens this year.
The shooting of Singam Hindi version produced by Reliance Big Pictures is expected to kick off next month and is expected to hit the screens in July.

After Malaika Arora Khan's 'Munni Badnaam Hui' and Katrina Kaif's 'Sheila Ki Jawaani' took audiences by storm this year, newbie Sonakshi Sinha will be seen in an item song in Shirish Kunder's upcoming film 'Joker'.
"We have one item song in the film. Sonakshi and another top actress will be doing the song together. We are yet to finalise the other actress. These days, I believe, item songs are a great marketing tool," Shirish told PTI.
Directed by Shirish, 'Joker' is a fantasy-adventure film made in 3D format in Hindi, and stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi, Shreyas Talpade and Minnisha Lamba.
Sonakshi, who debuted playing village belle 'Rajjo' opposite Salman Khan in 'Dabangg', will be seen dancing to the tune of ace choreographer Farah Khan for a raunchy item song. "Farah would choreograph the song... it will be shot in Mumbai," Shirish said.
"Both 'Munni Badnaam' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani' had set the box office on fire. We hope to break the record and do something much better. We intend to take a new approach for item song this time," Shirish said.
Music maestro AR Rahman's nephew, GV Prakash, will compose the music for 'Joker'. This will be his debut in Hindi films, the director said.
Though shooting is yet to start, Shirish is confident about his team for 'Joker'.
"I think I have got the best possible cast and crew. I have put together a fantastic team for my film. I think I have won half the battle.... The other half is execution. Hope I will manage to pull it off," Shirish said.
Though his directorial debut 'Jaan-E-Mann' failed badly at the box office, Shirish is looking forward to the upcoming film.
"I am directing a film after a very long time. 'Jaan-E-Mann' was shot five years back. The wait has to be worth it. I have to do something spectacular," Shirish said.
'Joker' is being jointly produced by Kunder and Farah's Three's Company and Akshay Kumar's Hari Om Entertainment.

Aishwarya Rai is awarded with the worst actress Ghanta award at the award show which is a rip-off of Hollywood’s Razzies.

Deepika Padukone, who was supposed to play the female lead role in Housefull 2, the sequel to the hit comedy Housefull, has opted out of the project. Sources close to the film disclose that it was non-availability of dates that led to the decision. Now, the lanky actress has been replaced with
Asin. Incidentally, Asin has been paired opposite Akshay Kumar for the first time. Sajid Khan, who directed the first part, will direct the sequel as well.

Caught in the whirlwind of two back to back releases Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Deepika Padukone recently said in an interview “I am looking forward to working with Aamir,Salman and Hrithik as my next agenda.”
With five releases in 2010 alone, the 24-year-old model turned actress has her hands full and is quite happy with the films coming her way. “I am very happy with the films I am being offered. This year has been a classic example of mixture of films from different genres. I would like to continue this trend,” said Deepika , who began her year with psychological thriller Karthik Calling Karthik co-starring Farhan Akhtar and ended it with a patriotic period movie Khelein Hum…
Even though she is juggling different genres with ease at an early stage in her career, Deepika says the process she undergoes as an actor is same for every film.
“I am still in the process of getting into a character, living in it, trying to portray it well. Whether I do a Break Ke Baad or Om Shanti Om or KHJJS, the process for me is the same.”
Deepika , has a some romantic comedies in her kitty including Bachna Ae Haseeno and the recent ‘Break Ke Baad’, says she enjoys acting in such films as she grew up watching movies of the kind.
“As an audience I have grown up watching romcoms and love stories like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which had the typical opposing parents, rebellious children and so much drama. I like to star in such movies as an actor as well. I would love to have played Kajol’s role in DDLJ,” she added.

anushka seems to be in the happiest phase of her life. The pretty lady is quite satisfied with the way her filmy career and personal life are shaping up. Anushka who started her Bollywood journey with King Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, didn’t leave that great an impression on the audience in Badmaash Company with Shahid Kapoor .
But her last film, Band Baaja Baaraat covered up for all the complaints and past failures and turned out to be the best out of all the films that she has done so far. anushka who has just completed her film Patiala House with Akshay Kumar is waiting for its release in February. The actress had a great time shooting with the one and only Khiladi, but also admits to have been quite nervous on her first day.
She says, “Working with Akshay Kumar was a dream come true experience. But the first day I reached the shoot, we had a scene where I was told to spit on his face. It was my first day and I was anyway quite nervous and he (Akshay) kept saying ‘thook thook, spit on my face’. That really got me stunned.” Akshay really wanted to bring out the best from his actress, even if it was something as gross as spitting. Anushka says, “Though I was nervous, Akshay made it easy and comfortable and the shot went smoothly.” Akshay has always maintained a good rapport with all the newcomer actresses, so is the beautiful Anushka Sharma going to replace the sexy Kat!
